UNIX/Linux Systems Management SME (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned UNIX/Linux Management Subject Matter Expert to design, build, and maintain robust server environments for our projects. The role involves end‑to‑end lifecycle management of Linux and Unix platforms, ensuring security, performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and administer UNIX/Linux servers (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Solaris/AIX) and standardize server builds.
• Perform OS installation, baseline configuration, hardening, and patch management following CIS‑like guidelines.
• Manage user/group accounts, sudo policies, PAM controls and enforce least‑privilege access.
• Configure storage (LVM, multipath, NFS) and filesystem strategies, and maintain network settings (IP, routing, DNS, NTP, firewall rules).
• Automate repetitive tasks using shell scripting and Ansible or similar automation frameworks.
• Manage services and daemons (systemd/init), log rotation and basic observability.
• Monitor performance, tune CPU, RAM, disk I/O and network, and support root‑cause analysis of incidents.
• Coordinate with storage, network and security teams for firewall approvals, VLANs, load balancers and certificates.
• Document configurations, raise RFCs, and support deployment milestones, cut‑over and hyper‑care phases.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in UNIX/Linux system administration.
• Hands‑on experience with OLVM cluster development and deployment.
• Proven ability to work on complex infrastructure projects and follow change‑management processes.
