Trade Development Manager – FMCG

About the role

The Trade Development Manager will act as Monster Energy’s commercial advocate within the bottling partner’s organisation across Nigeria. Working closely with regional key‑account contacts and distributor sales teams, you will influence priorities, coach teams and ensure the brand receives the focus it deserves in a fragmented retail market.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Monster’s bottling partner to improve regional execution and drive distribution growth.
• Build strong relationships with key‑account contacts and distributor management.
• Coach and support sales teams to increase Monster’s presence in retail outlets.
• Ensure Monster products are prioritized within the bottler’s broader portfolio.
• Identify and win new retail outlets, raise merchandising standards and support promotional campaigns.
• Monitor execution KPIs, provide market insight, competitor intelligence and commercial feedback.
• Deliver regional projects and initiatives that support business growth.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of commercial experience in FMCG, preferably in field sales, key‑account or distribution management.
• Experience working with distributors or bottling partners.
• Strong relationship‑building and influencing abilities.
• Good knowledge of the Nigerian market and an existing customer network.
• Comfortable coaching sales teams rather than directly managing them.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to spot growth opportunities.
• Full Nigerian driving licence.
