System Administrator

About the role

Babcock University is seeking a full‑time System Administrator to join its on‑site IT team in Ogun State, Nigeria. The role focuses on maintaining a stable, secure, and scalable technology environment that supports the university’s academic and administrative operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor system performance, apply updates and patches, and ensure high availability of servers.
• Manage backups, disaster‑recovery procedures, and data protection measures.
• Maintain user accounts, access controls, and security configurations.
• Provide technical support to staff and academic units, diagnosing hardware, software, and application issues.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and compliance with university IT policies.
• Collaborate with IT and academic stakeholders to implement improvements aligned with institutional goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication abilities.
• Willingness to support a values‑driven, faith‑based educational mission.
