Sustainability and Systems Advisor

About the role

The Sustainability and Systems Advisor will work under the Project Team Lead to strengthen the capacity of state and local government authorities and key stakeholders. The role focuses on transitioning health service implementation to government ownership and ensuring program sustainability beyond the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Build functional collaboration with State Ministry of Health and related agencies to embed health reforms into state and local systems.
• Develop and oversee a project sustainability and transition plan for the state.
• Design innovative financing mechanisms to shift health worker and intervention costs to government funding.
• Capacity‑build state and local health management structures for coordinated, integrated health responses.
• Coordinate with technical teams to revise activities for maximum sustainability and local ownership.
• Assess government capacity to assume funding and management of integrated health interventions.
• Provide health‑financing technical assistance and support policy formulation, research, data collection, and training.
• Represent the project at the state level on health‑systems strengthening matters.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (master’s preferred) in public health, sociology, or related health/social science discipline.
• Demonstrated experience working with US Government programs and familiarity with USG reporting requirements.
• Minimum of 7 years of senior‑level experience in health‑related projects, preferably in government or public‑sector contexts.
