Survey Engineer Trainee

About the role

Coastal Line & Ocean is looking for a motivated Survey Engineer Trainee to support the installation, testing and commissioning of surface and subsurface survey positioning systems used in its energy and utilities projects. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience with a variety of survey equipment and data acquisition sensors.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure technical software packages and computer networks.
• Set up and maintain directory structures and perform basic fault finding on computer systems.
• Install, test and commission surface and subsurface survey positioning systems and data acquisition sensors.
• Use test and measurement equipment to verify system performance.
• Prepare survey equipment for transit, including strapping and mobilising offline systems such as navigational antennas and geophysical positioning units.
• Operate online survey systems on rigs, barges and vessels, ensuring compliance with client and manufacturer specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
• At least an HND in a related engineering or technical field.

Required skills

• Installation and configuration of technical software.
• Basic computer networking and system setup.
• Handling and commissioning of survey equipment and positioning sensors.
