Superintendent Pharmacist – Lead Pharmacy Operations

About the role

The Superintendent Pharmacist will lead pharmacy operations at HealthPlus Limited’s Lagos Island branch, ensuring the highest professional, ethical and legal standards in medication dispensing and patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise dispensing activities and review prescriptions for clinical appropriateness.
• Maintain accurate and safe medication supply, including controlled drugs.
• Lead, mentor and train pharmacy staff, fostering a culture of quality and compliance.
• Develop, implement and monitor standard operating procedures aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Manage documentation, inventory and regulatory reporting.
• Liaise with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria and other regulatory bodies.
• Conduct regular audits and quality‑assurance checks.
• Provide patient counseling and promote rational drug use.
• Support public‑health initiatives and collaborate with management to improve service delivery.

Required profile

• Licensed pharmacist with a B.Pharm or Pharm.D and current registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.
• Proven experience in community or retail pharmacy, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical care, medication safety and Nigerian pharmacy laws and ethics.
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities, especially in inventory and controlled‑substance management.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for team mentorship and patient interaction.
