Strategic Growth & Marketing Lead

About the role

The Strategic Growth & Marketing Lead will drive user acquisition and community building for Tap Am’s upcoming fintech product. Based in Lagos, you will design and execute growth campaigns across social platforms, campuses, and local merchant networks to build a high‑quality waitlist and launch momentum.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage a waitlist of genuine early adopters.
• Create and run growth campaigns on WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, X, campuses, creator communities and local businesses.
• Design referral and ambassador programmes that generate real sign‑ups.
• Identify high‑potential user segments and run weekly lightweight experiments, reporting results.
• Develop content ideas, campaign briefs, launch messaging and user‑facing copy.
• Recruit and manage micro‑ambassadors, student reps and community partners.
• Engage directly with potential users to gather feedback and understand adoption barriers.
• Support partnerships with Lagos‑based businesses, event organisers and campuses.
• Track waitlist quality, conversion intent, referral performance and overall campaign metrics.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of how Lagos youth, students, creators and small businesses discover and adopt products.
• Live in Lagos and be comfortable both online and offline.
• 5+ years of experience in growth, marketing, community or fintech go‑to‑market.
• Strong copywriting skills with a human, non‑corporate tone.
• Data‑driven mindset focused on sign‑ups, activation intent, cost per lead and retention.
• Ability to work independently and report honestly on outcomes.
