Store Officer

About the role

The Store Officer will manage the academy’s store and inventory, ensuring that all supplies and equipment are received, stored, and issued efficiently. This full‑time position supports procurement, finance and administrative teams by maintaining accurate stock records and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and record all incoming items against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Store and label items correctly, maintaining minimum and maximum stock levels.
• Conduct weekly, monthly and quarterly stock counts and reconcile physical stock with records.
• Issue materials only with approved requisitions and monitor fast‑moving and slow‑moving items.
• Prepare regular inventory reports, highlighting shortages, damages, expiries and obsolete stock.
• Ensure proper storage conditions, FIFO handling for perishable items and prevent unauthorized access.
• Support procurement by providing up‑to‑date stock information.

Required profile

• Minimum OND in Purchasing & Supply, Logistics, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or related field; a degree in Supply Chain Management is an advantage.
• 2–3 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory management, procurement or logistics, preferably in a school, company, hospital or hotel.
• Strong attention to detail, honesty, physical fitness for routine store activities and ability to work under pressure.
• Good organizational and communication skills, with a proactive approach to identifying discrepancies.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel for stock tracking and reporting.
• Familiarity with inventory‑management software or tools.
