Store Inventory Library Officer

About the role

The Store Inventory Library Officer is responsible for maintaining the absolute integrity and standardisation of the Master Item Library on the company’s ERP platform. This role supports the Procurement, Engineering and Store teams by ensuring every construction component has a unique, technically accurate profile, eliminating duplication and procurement delays.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary gatekeeper for the ERP Stock Item Library, enforcing corporate cataloguing standards and taxonomy frameworks.
• Review, validate and approve all new item creation requests, classifying items into logical groups such as Civil, MEP, Finishes, Tools, Plant & Machinery.
• Conduct regular data‑cleansing audits to merge or archive duplicate, obsolete or poorly formatted entries.
• Standardise units of measure to prevent quantity errors across materials like cement, cables and steel.
• Implement structured naming conventions and ensure technical specifications, material grades, standards (ASTM, BS) and manufacturer part numbers are accurately recorded.
• Attach technical data sheets, drawings, compliance certificates or reference images to item profiles to aid storekeepers during receipt verification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Strong understanding of construction materials and engineering standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with engineers, estimators and quality control.
