Standardization and Compliance Desk Officer

About the role

Our client, a leading renewable energy industry association in Nigeria, is looking for a Standardization and Compliance Desk Officer to coordinate the implementation of technical standards and conformity assessment frameworks across the sector. The role will act as the central hub for standards‑related queries, providing expert advice and supporting members in applying approved standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the organization’s compliance desk and serve as the main point of contact for all technical standards and conformity assessment matters.
• Develop toolkits, templates and Standard Operating Procedures to simplify members’ use of national, regional and international renewable energy standards.
• Maintain a comprehensive compliance‑tracking database and prepare quarterly dashboards and reports for management and committees.
• Issue technical bulletins and advisories summarising approved standards and emerging regulatory requirements.
• Identify compliance gaps, recommend corrective actions and support interventions.
• Organise quarterly technical roundtables and act as the official liaison with regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate pre‑certification clinics, support standards learning hub and help design mandatory training and certification programmes.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy standards and conformity assessment processes.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
• Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including industry members, regulators and development partners.

Required skills

• Knowledge of national, regional and international renewable energy standards.
• Experience in developing compliance tools, templates and SOPs.
• Ability to design and maintain databases for tracking compliance data.
