About the role
The Social Science Teacher will deliver engaging, rigorous, and student‑centered instruction to high school students, aligning lessons with the school’s curriculum maps and standards.
Key responsibilities
- Develop backwards‑designed unit and lesson plans aligned to curriculum maps.
- Collaborate regularly with special education and ELTP teachers, providing feedback and data.
- Implement standards‑based and culturally relevant curriculum with fidelity.
- Deliver differentiated instruction and design assessments measuring academic progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and attendance.
- Manage classroom behavior and enforce disciplinary policies.
- Communicate regularly with guardians about student development.
Required profile
- Eligibility to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (preferred).
- Five or more years of high‑school teaching experience (preferred).
