Service Engineer (Compressor Specialist)

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Service Engineer specializing in compressors to support our CNG operations in Lagos. The role involves maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, commissioning and optimisation of gas compression systems, acting as the subject‑matter expert for compressor technology.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support during compressor breakdowns and emergency failures.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and operational issues; conduct Root Cause Analysis for recurring problems.
• Lead major overhauls, shutdown maintenance and equipment refurbishments.
• Supervise inspections, performance testing and condition monitoring activities.
• Support installation, commissioning, startup and performance verification of compressor systems.
• Liaise with OEMs, vendors and contractors to resolve technical issues.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance recommendations and service documentation for stakeholders.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of hands‑on experience with reciprocating and screw compressors in oil & gas or CNG environments.
• Proven ability to lead overhauls, preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Strong knowledge of high‑pressure gas processing equipment and associated safety standards.
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings, technical manuals and specifications.
