About the role
The Senior Specialist Nurse Chemo Infusion provides advanced nursing care to patients receiving chemotherapy, ensuring safe preparation, administration, and monitoring while supporting patients and families throughout treatment.
Key responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies in line with oncology protocols and safety guidelines.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during and after infusion to detect adverse reactions and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Manage chemotherapy‑related side effects such as nausea, neutropenia, mucositis and infusion reactions using evidence‑based interventions.
- Educate patients and families on treatment regimens, expected side effects and self‑care strategies to promote adherence.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse with a valid license and oncology certification.
- Minimum 10 years nursing experience, including at least 5 years specializing in oncology or chemotherapy administration.
- Post‑basic training in oncology or hematology and ability to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
