Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

About the role

Kuda is looking for a senior backend software engineer to enhance and maintain its fintech platform. You will work on high‑traffic services that power money transfers, business banking and instant credit for African users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain reusable, high‑quality C#/.NET code.
• Implement and evolve micro‑service and event‑driven architectures.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise existing backend applications for performance and reliability.
• Write unit tests, conduct code reviews and follow agile development practices.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate UI components with server‑side logic.
• Modernise legacy systems using cloud services (Azure, AWS) and DevOps pipelines.
• Document technical designs and contribute to reusable libraries.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with agile methodologies, unit testing and continuous integration.
