Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Duplo is a Lagos‑based fintech startup building a platform to automate spend management and simplify cross‑border B2B payments. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer you will own the reliability, scalability and observability of critical backend services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design and implementation for large, high‑risk initiatives that improve availability, scalability and resilience of backend systems.
• Design robust service boundaries, maintainable infrastructure architecture and guide reliability standards across the engineering team.
• Own end‑to‑end observability – metrics, logging, tracing and alerting – to catch issues before customers notice.
• Build and refine incident response processes, lead production incident diagnosis, and drive thorough post‑mortems.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, finance operations, support, backend engineering and external providers.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of SRE, DevOps or backend infrastructure experience.
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes, Docker and AWS in production environments.
• Strong scripting/programming ability, preferably TypeScript.
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL at scale, including replication, backup/recovery and performance tuning.
• Experience with Redis for caching, coordination, rate‑limiting and distributed locking.
• Proven track record building observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog or ELK.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Background in fintech or other high‑stakes systems with compliance‑sensitive infrastructure.
