Senior Rig Mechanic – Lagos

About the role

Bill Energy Services Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Rig Mechanic to join its Lagos operations. The role involves ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of rig mechanical systems for land‑based drilling projects in the oil and gas sector. The successful candidate will work closely with rig crews and maintenance teams to keep equipment running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all rig mechanical components, including hydraulic and power‑train systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures to minimize downtime and maintain production targets.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, parts inventories, and compliance records.
• Support rig crews during drilling operations by providing technical assistance and on‑site repairs.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for timely delivery of spare parts and equipment.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics and maintenance staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Rig Mechanic, preferably on land rigs.
• Strong knowledge of rig mechanical systems and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair rig equipment efficiently.
• Land rig drilling experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work in high‑pressure environments while adhering to safety protocols.
