Senior Reservoir Engineer

About the role

The Senior Reservoir Engineer will provide expert reservoir engineering across the asset lifecycle, integrating subsurface and surface data to drive analysis, optimise production and maximise hydrocarbon recovery. The role supports field development planning, reservoir characterisation, reserves estimation and technical assurance for efficient and sustainable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead reservoir analysis and model development to support field surveillance and management.
• Develop and evaluate field development plans, including well placement, depletion strategies and economic assessments (NPV/IRR).
• Integrate and interpret well‑test, PVT, log, production and core data with geoscience, drilling and production teams.
• Identify and manage reservoir uncertainties, delivering risk‑based strategies and probabilistic forecasts (P10‑P90).
• Optimise mature fields and brownfield assets through decline management and recovery‑factor improvement.
• Ensure compliance with SPE PRMS, Nigeria National Standards, HSE, ISO and TQM guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Chemical or related engineering.
• 8‑12 years of upstream oil & gas experience, preferably in an E&P environment.
• Proven experience in exploration & production, field development planning and integrated asset teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage reservoir uncertainties and mature‑field optimisation.
• Desirable: advanced degree, COREN registration, NSE membership, PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
