Senior Python Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Python Developer to join a remote development project building a next‑generation mobile application for a professional football team. The role focuses on creating robust backend services, integrating AI capabilities, and delivering scalable APIs that enhance fan engagement and monetisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Python with FastAPI or Flask.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs to support mobile features and fan‑engagement functionalities.
• Integrate AI‑powered services from providers such as OpenAI or Hugging Face.
• Develop asynchronous data flows and ensure reliable communication between components.
• Design, optimise and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT) following data‑privacy best practices.
• Containerise applications with Docker and support cloud deployment, preferably on Microsoft Azure.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and deployment automation.

Required profile

• Proven experience building production‑ready backend systems in Python.
• Strong knowledge of FastAPI or Flask and RESTful API design.
• Practical experience integrating AI/ML services via APIs (OpenAI, Hugging Face, etc.).
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, JSON data exchange and data processing.
• Experience with relational and/or non‑relational databases (SQL, NoSQL).
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, cloud deployment and CI/CD pipelines; Azure experience is a plus.
• Good grasp of application security, authentication protocols and data protection.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, international team and communicate effectively.
