Senior Program Officer – Nigeria Project Lead, INNOVATE

About the role

PATH is seeking a Senior Program Officer to lead the INNOVATE project in Nigeria. The role will guide the implementation of innovative oxygen production, delivery, and business‑model pilots, working closely with the Ministry of Health and local partners to expand safe, reliable oxygen therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all project activities in Nigeria, ensuring alignment with national health priorities.
• Engage Ministry of Health officials and other government stakeholders to secure buy‑in and coordinate policy mapping.
• Launch the national project, co‑develop scale‑up and sustainability plans with partners.
• Oversee community outreach, including the establishment of a Community Advisory Board.
• Manage technology pilots: obtain local IRB approvals, train health‑care workers, run pilots, collect and analyse data.
• Manage business‑model pilots: coordinate with private and public partners, oversee data collection and reporting.
• Support product registration processes and build local capacity for new oxygen technologies.
• Contribute to publications, knowledge products, and disseminate findings at national, regional, and global forums.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading health‑sector programs in low‑resource settings.
• Strong knowledge of Nigeria’s health system and Ministry of Health processes.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multi‑disciplinary teams and external partners.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

Required skills

• Experience with IRB approval processes.
• Project management and pilot implementation expertise.
• Data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Understanding of product registration and regulatory pathways.
