Senior Nurse, Outpatient Clinic

About the role

The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) is seeking a Senior Nurse to lead its Outpatient Clinic. This role oversees patient flow, minor procedures, and education, ensuring a high‑quality outpatient experience in a state‑of‑the‑art facility launching in early 2025.

Key responsibilities

• Lead initial and follow‑up patient assessments, recording vital signs, medical history and current concerns.
• Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Supervise administration of medications, wound care and other prescribed treatments.
• Monitor patient progress, flagging significant changes to the medical team for timely intervention.
• Optimize patient flow, schedule follow‑up appointments and coordinate referrals to specialists or diagnostics.
• Mentor and guide junior nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with extensive experience in outpatient or ambulatory care.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a nursing team and manage patient flow efficiently.
• Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
