About the role
The Senior Medical Officer will lead clinical care for housebound patients, ensuring the highest standards of treatment and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. This full‑time position is based in Edo and focuses on delivering patient‑centered care within primary and social care networks.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain top‑quality clinical standards for housebound patients.
- Take comprehensive histories, perform examinations, and develop diagnosis and management plans in partnership with patients.
- Collaborate with primary care, social services, and specialist networks to deliver integrated care.
- Order, interpret, and act on laboratory investigations as needed.
- Educate patients on preventive health measures and document all care activities accurately.
- Complete required legal and administrative paperwork.
- Participate in clinical audits and continuous professional development.
Required profile
- Medical degree with completed internship and NYSC.
- Valid license and certification to practice medicine in Nigeria.
- Extensive experience (minimum 6 years) diagnosing and treating a broad range of illnesses.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Compassionate, detail‑oriented, and committed to ongoing learning.
