Senior iOS Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a senior iOS Engineer to join Kuda’s fintech team and shape the next generation of mobile banking experiences for African users. You will work on our native iOS application, improving performance, adding new features, and ensuring a seamless, secure user journey.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality iOS applications.
• Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of the app.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to define and ship new features.
• Identify bottlenecks, fix bugs, and optimise memory and CPU usage.
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation through CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in a startup or scale‑up environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical mindset and a results‑driven attitude.

Required skills

• Swift and Swift Package Manager.
• Cocoa Touch, UIKit, and SwiftUI for UI development.
• iOS frameworks such as Core Data and Core Animation.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
• Integration with RESTful APIs and familiarity with Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines.
• Proficiency with Instruments, profiling, and memory‑management tools.
• Knowledge of cloud messaging APIs, push notifications, and benchmarking.
• Version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows.
