Senior Debt Financing Solutions Transactor

About the role

RMB Nigeria is seeking an entrepreneurial senior transactor to expand its Investment Banking Division across West Africa. The role focuses on delivering corporate term lending and debt capital markets solutions to sovereigns, state‑owned enterprises, supranationals, financial institutions, multinationals and large local corporates.

Key responsibilities

• Lead origination, structuring and execution of bespoke term‑lending transactions, leveraging coverage, credit and product teams in Nigeria, South Africa and London.
• Provide credit‑rating advisory and manage bond‑listing requirements in Nigeria and Ghana.
• Develop and nurture strategic relationships with identified key clients, working closely with coverage and global markets teams.
• Obtain internal approvals, negotiate terms and close transactions while mitigating credit risk.
• Prepare multi‑jurisdictional documentation, ensure regulatory compliance and monitor deals post‑closure.
• Mentor junior transactors and cross‑sell additional bank products.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of corporate and structured finance deal experience, preferably with exposure to Nigeria.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; ability to travel across West Africa and South Africa.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CFA or MBA are advantageous.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of financial instruments and debt structuring.
• Broad knowledge of tax, law and accounting principles.
• Expertise in credit analysis and contract law.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
