Senior Data Analyst

About the role

IMPACT Initiatives, a humanitarian NGO based in Geneva and part of the REACH Initiative, is recruiting a Senior Data Analyst in Abuja under the line management of the Research Manager. The post is open to internal applicants only, has a 4-month contract starting 1 December 2026, and sits in the REACH department. The analyst leads the production of analysis products, works closely with assessment teams and partners, and may supervise data and assessment teams during data collection, analysis and output production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead research planning and design, including sampling design and construction of quantitative samples with assessment and GIS staff
• Support sampling methods, data analysis plans, data collection tools, data cleaning scripts and processes, analysis scripts and outputs, and web maps and information management systems
• Provide training on data cleaning and management techniques
• Oversee data analysis set up, carried out in the R environment
• Manage, clean and analyse data, monitor data accuracy and cross-check field-collected data
• Maintain R-based data management and analysis systems and develop cleaning and analysis scripts (descriptive, hypothesis testing, correlation and regression)
• Contribute to automating data analysis processes
• Develop information products and dashboards and support other team members and humanitarian stakeholders
• Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with data protection policy and SOPs

Required profile

• Excellent academic qualifications, preferably a Master's degree in Computer or Data Science, Statistics, Social Science, Economics or a related field
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the humanitarian field
• Fluency in English
• Ability to work independently, in a cross-cultural and complex security environment, with tight deadlines
• Past experience in the region is desirable

Required skills

• Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods
• Strong statistical skills including correlation and regression analysis
• Advanced knowledge of R, STATA, Python or equivalent statistical software (willingness to learn R)
• Knowledge of ArcGIS or Power BI is an advantage
