Senior Consultant, Gender Equality Programmatic Review (International)

About the role

UNICEF Nigeria is seeking a Senior International Consultant to lead a comprehensive Gender Equality Programmatic Review (GPR). The review will identify gaps, opportunities, and pathways to strengthen gender integration across UNICEF’s programmes and operations, directly informing the next Country Programme (2028‑2032).

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a desk review and produce a detailed Desk Review Report.
• Develop a draft Mission Agenda and present preliminary findings to stakeholders.
• Prepare a debrief slide deck and a draft GPR Report summarising agreed gender‑equality priorities.
• Deliver a final comprehensive GPR Report and draft Gender Action Plan to support the Strategic Moment of Reflection in early September.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Gender Equality Studies, International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of technical experience in gender‑equality programming or research.
• Proven experience supporting country programme teams with gender‑equality or social‑inclusion assessments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong presentation abilities.
