Senior Backend Engineer (.NET / C#)

About the role

247Bet is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance services that power real‑time betting, payments, and social features for thousands of users. This full‑time hybrid position is based in Lagos and offers the chance to shape production‑scale infrastructure in a fast‑growing gaming platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable backend services using C# and .NET 8+
• Build core domains such as bet placement, settlement, wallet, payments, live sports data ingestion, and social feeds
• Write clean, well‑tested code and actively participate in code reviews
• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL databases, Redis caches, and Kafka event streams
• Expose functionality through REST and gRPC APIs for mobile and frontend teams
• Own reliability through monitoring, alerting, and incident response
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong expertise in C#/.NET (preferably .NET 6+ / .NET 8)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, API design, and event‑driven architecture
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and raise technical standards
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across product, mobile, and frontend teams
