Senior Analyst – Policy Research

About the role

The Senior Analyst will lead high‑level theoretical and empirical research to produce evidence‑based policy recommendations. The role involves managing key projects, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and preparing policy briefs that influence strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct primary and secondary macro‑economic research, economic and financial modelling, forecasting and sectoral policy analysis.
• Prepare technical policy notes, working papers and discussion documents for policy development and reform.
• Review existing policies, identify gaps, draft new proposals and monitor legislative developments.
• Create and maintain a smart database of national and global macro‑economic variables for policy analysis.
• Identify emerging technologies and conduct technical due diligence for client adoption.
• Write technical presentations and speeches for senior executives.
• Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual macro‑economic updates.
• Generate high‑quality reports, briefings and articles for diverse stakeholders.
• Lead project timelines, manage working groups and mentor junior researchers.
• Engage with government officials, private sector leaders and development partners to gather insights.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in Public Policy, Economics or a related social science field (PhD preferred).
• 2–5+ years of experience in policy analysis and research within the private sector, think‑tank, NGO or academia.
• Strong ability to network across sectors and collaborate with senior officials and development partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency with research and analytical tools such as R, EViews, SPSS, Stata, Dynare.
• Experience using survey platforms like KoboToolbox (CTO/KoboToolbox).
• Ability to analyse large datasets and create visualisations.
