Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team at Kenex Konsults International in Lagos. The role involves overseeing the full spectrum of accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision‑making across our construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting transactions in line with company policies and accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payment processing.
• Monitor shipping, transportation, freight, and logistics expenses to ensure cost control and profitability.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support management decisions.
• Track operational costs and report on revenue, margins, and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and company policies.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
• Monitor cash flow and assist in financial planning activities.
• Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to improve financial efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification (ICAN, ACCA, ANAN or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Minimum three years of accounting experience, preferably in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding or transportation.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation and budgeting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Tally or ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to analyze financial data with high accuracy and attention to detail.
