Senior Accountant – Finance & Reporting

About the role

Medessy Enterprise Limited, a fast‑growing transportation company in Lagos, is looking for a Senior Accountant to lead its financial reporting and accounting functions. You will ensure accurate bookkeeping, compliance with regulations, and provide strategic financial insights to support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor day‑to‑day financial operations and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements.
• Analyse trends, costs, revenues and forecast future financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax regulations (WHT, VAT, PAYE) and regulatory requirements.
• Audit and substantiate financial transactions, reconcile discrepancies and secure financial data.
• Develop and recommend accounting policies, controls and procedures.
• Support strategic data analysis, research and modelling for senior leadership.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operational activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior accounting or finance roles, preferably in logistics or transportation.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, tax compliance and accounting standards.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
