Security Supervisor

About the role

The Security Supervisor will lead the security team at GDNL Terminal ‘E’ in Apapa Port, ensuring the protection of staff, assets and facilities. This role combines oversight of internal guards and outsourced personnel with the implementation of surveillance, access control and incident response procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of internal and third‑party security operatives.
• Monitor patrols, CCTV systems and access‑control points to verify effectiveness.
• Detect, report and respond promptly to security incidents and threats.
• Enforce security policies, regulatory requirements and maintain incident documentation.
• Lead emergency response actions and liaise with authorities as needed.
• Identify security risks such as theft, vandalism or violence and apply deterrent measures.
• Conduct routine inspections and audits of security operations and personnel performance.
• Provide guidance, training and support to the security workforce.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hands‑on industrial security experience, with at least 1‑2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven ability to lead a diverse guard force, including direct employees and contractors.
• Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail and calmness under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for incident reporting and emergency coordination.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
