Security Operations Center (SOC) Engineer

About the role

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Engineer will protect the organization’s IT environment by continuously monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats. You will work closely with infrastructure and application teams to ensure rapid containment and remediation of security incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, firewalls and threat‑intelligence platforms.
• Investigate incidents, assess severity, determine root cause and coordinate response actions.
• Conduct threat‑hunting activities and develop detection use cases and rules.
• Escalate critical incidents, produce incident reports and post‑incident reviews.
• Support vulnerability remediation and maintain security dashboards, logs and monitoring systems.
• Participate in security awareness and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in security operations, incident response or cybersecurity.
• Hands‑on experience with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS and network security technologies.
• Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001 and CIS Controls frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, GCIH, CSA (preferred).
