Security Officer – Depot (Seme Border)

About the role

The Security Officer – Depot (Seme Border) safeguards Dangote Cement’s assets, personnel, and operations at the depot and border locations. You will ensure the secure movement of cement products from loading points to final destinations while preventing theft, diversion, vandalism, and other security threats.

Key responsibilities

• Protect depot, border facilities, machinery, trucks, and products from theft, diversion, and sabotage.
• Monitor logistics and export corridors to avoid disruptions to product distribution.
• Facilitate safe, uninterrupted movement of Dangote trucks across assigned routes and border points.
• Collaborate with Sales, Plant Operations, and other security personnel to supervise product movement from dispatch to delivery.
• Maintain regular communication with depot and border security teams to track goods and share intelligence.
• Develop and implement strategies to prevent product diversion and unauthorized activities within Nigeria and neighboring countries.
• Liaise with government agencies (Customs, Police, etc.) to address security risks.
• Monitor border activities and promptly report incidents or threats.
• Enforce compliance with company security policies for all personnel and vehicles.
• Deploy and maintain security systems to enhance monitoring, control, and reporting accuracy.
• Prepare and submit timely security reports, incident logs, and intelligence updates.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in Security Studies, Social Sciences, or related discipline; Bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
• Professional security certification and/or military/paramilitary background is desirable.
• At least 7 years of experience, including 5 years in a security role within a government security agency.
• Proven experience working with security stakeholders and business leaders.
