School Cook

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare and serve healthy meals for pupils. You will work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment, ensuring food safety and hygiene while supporting the institution’s nutrition goals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to approved menus.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Store food items properly and monitor inventory to minimise waste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after use.
• Monitor food quality and portion sizes.
• Report shortages, equipment faults, or maintenance needs to management.
• Support the school’s commitment to promoting healthy eating habits among pupils.
• Demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, teamwork, and respect in daily interactions.
• Perform other duties assigned by school management.

Required profile

• Minimum of SSCE or its equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ experience as a cook, preferably in a school, restaurant, or catering environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to prepare a variety of healthy meals.
• Physically fit and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good organisational and time‑management skills.
• Honest, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards.
