Sales and Trade Development Representative

About the role

The Sales and Trade Development Representative will manage and develop MTN's trade infrastructure and distribution channels, focusing on retailers, to ensure MTN’s market dominance in the assigned territory. The role involves regular field visits, training, and monitoring of product availability and promotional activities.

Key responsibilities

• Contact sub‑dealers and dealer branches, verify stock receipt and movement, and ensure product availability exceeds 95%.
• Provide on‑the‑spot training and coaching on products, services, and promotions to all visited outlets during the call cycle.
• Manage events and promotions, create sub‑dealer promo specifications, and conduct post‑promo evaluations.
• Prepare weekly and monthly sales activity and market intelligence reports for field service engineers.
• Monitor network quality and other sales‑impacting indices, reporting findings regularly.
• Maintain an 8‑10 visit call cycle per day, updating the channel database weekly or monthly.
• Increase brand visibility through signage, POS distribution, aiming for at least 65% channel visibility.
• Build and nurture relationships between authorized distributors, sub‑dealers, and retailers, resolving any activation or promotion issues.

Required profile

• First‑degree qualification, preferably in social sciences.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• 1–3 years of experience in sales, marketing, or trade development, preferably within a fast‑moving consumer goods environment.
• Experience working in a medium‑sized organization and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
