Rotational Nurse

About the role

The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) in Abuja is seeking a Rotational Nurse to provide direct patient care across multiple clinical areas, including medical wards, surgical units, ICU, emergency and outpatient clinics. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain diverse experience while mentoring junior staff and contributing to high‑quality bedside care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead direct patient care, perform comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans and oversee medication administration.
• Rotate through various departments, ensuring seamless transitions, supervising junior nurses, and maintaining strict infection‑control and safety protocols.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side‑effects and self‑care, while providing emotional support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a diploma with post‑basic training, valid practising licence and membership in relevant nursing associations.
• Minimum of 3 years of current clinical nursing experience and Basic/Advanced Life Support certification.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and accurate charting.
• Ability to manage central lines, infusion devices and adhere to infection‑control protocols.
