Resident Medical Officer

About the role

The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) will provide on‑site clinical support, emergency response, and patient assessment within a diagnostic and outpatient care setting. This role is essential for ensuring patient safety, effective triage, timely medical intervention, and appropriate referrals for imaging, emergency care, or specialist management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide immediate medical care during emergencies, lead resuscitation efforts, and stabilize patients before transfer.
• Assess walk‑in patients, take focused histories, perform examinations, initiate basic investigations, and manage minor to acute conditions.
• Support imaging services by assessing patient suitability for contrast procedures, obtaining consent, and assisting during high‑risk examinations.
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, participate in incident reporting, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to SOP development.
• Coordinate referrals, ensure clear clinical handover, and maintain continuity of care for escalated cases.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• Valid registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑NYSC clinical experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Advanced Life Support is an advantage).
• Experience in emergency medicine, general practice, or acute care settings.
