Research Supervisor – Livestock Feed Innovation

About the role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), on behalf of the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), seeks two Research Supervisors to advance livestock feed innovation and dairy research in Nigeria. You will work directly in the field, supporting demonstration plots, feed units, and farmer adoption of new technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor forage demonstration plots and feed units.
• Assist in developing improved feed formulations and conduct feeding trials.
• Collect, record, and manage field data on feed, forage, and dairy production.
• Track technology adoption and farmer practices across project sites.
• Support field visits, training sessions, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Implement alternative feed technologies such as HQCP, BSFL, and crop‑residue utilisation.

Required profile

• BSc/HND in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in livestock or dairy value chains.
• Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively to project locations.
