Research & Development Specialist

About the role

The Research & Development Specialist will support Ijewere & Co. by providing in‑depth research and analysis on accounting, auditing, taxation, finance, economic and regulatory matters. The role bridges market intelligence with the firm’s strategic initiatives, ensuring clients receive up‑to‑date, actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Research accounting, auditing, taxation, finance, economic, regulatory and industry‑specific topics relevant to the firm and its clients.
• Monitor legislation, professional standards, industry trends and emerging business issues, and communicate developments to management.
• Conduct market, industry and competitor research to identify new sectors, client needs, business opportunities and risks.
• Gather, analyse and interpret information from credible sources, databases, publications and regulatory bodies to generate actionable insights.
• Prepare research reports, briefing notes, industry reports, presentations and other knowledge materials.
• Support business development by providing research and intelligence for proposals, tenders, pitches and client presentations.
• Develop thought‑leadership articles, technical updates, client alerts and other professional content in collaboration with management.
• Maintain and update corporate presentations, service profiles and marketing materials.
• Assist in planning and execution of seminars, webinars, conferences and client events.
• Monitor the firm’s digital presence and recommend initiatives to improve brand visibility and audience engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 36 months (3 years) of relevant experience in research, consulting or financial analysis.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret complex regulatory and market data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presentations.
• Proactive attitude and ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
