Research Analyst

About the role

The Research Analyst will work on‑site at Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic, designing and executing research projects that support institutional planning and strategic decision‑making. You will analyse quantitative and qualitative data, monitor trends in education, labour markets and technology, and translate findings into clear reports and presentations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct research studies, including survey design and data collection.
• Collect, clean, and analyse quantitative and qualitative data using statistical software.
• Prepare concise reports, dashboards and presentations for senior management.
• Monitor and analyse trends in education, labour markets and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative units to align research with institutional goals.
• Maintain research databases, ensure data integrity and support grant‑writing activities.
• Contribute to research publications and multidisciplinary projects while adhering to ethical standards.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with solid knowledge of statistics.
• Academic background (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Data Science or a related field.
• Proficiency in data‑analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS or R.
• Familiarity with research methodologies, survey design and market/policy analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time‑management abilities.
