Remote Physics Professor – Task‑Based Short‑Term Contract

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified physics expert to work remotely on a short‑term, task‑based contract. You will help improve large language models by designing and solving challenging physics problems and providing detailed, step‑by‑step solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve physics problems that test and improve LLM performance.
• Create clear, high‑quality, step‑by‑step solutions with well‑articulated reasoning.
• Collaborate with AI researchers to develop evaluation tasks focused on model weaknesses.
• Define new physics evaluation benchmarks covering undergraduate to PhD‑level topics.
• Explain physics concepts using simple language, visuals, and logical reasoning.
• Provide detailed annotations, feedback, and reasoning for AI evaluation workflows.

Required profile

• Master's, PhD, or post‑doctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven experience explaining complex physics concepts clearly.
• Ability to give constructive feedback and detailed annotations.
• Creative and lateral thinking, excellent written communication, and self‑motivation for remote work.
• Access to a reliable desktop/laptop with internet and a LinkedIn profile included in the résumé.

• Task‑based compensation of $250 per approved task.
• Flexible remote work with up to 40 hours per week and a 4‑hour overlap with PST.
