Regulatory Manager – Agribusiness & Commodities

About the role
The Regulatory Manager will ensure Johnvents Group complies with all relevant Nigerian regulations across its farming, processing, and commodities trading activities. Acting as the primary liaison with agencies such as the SEC, CBN, NAFDAC and the Export Promotion Council, the role safeguards licences, permits and regulatory approvals.
Key responsibilities
- Lead all communications and engagements with key regulatory bodies, securing and renewing licences and export permits.
- Respond to regulatory inquiries, inspections and assessments, delivering accurate and timely submissions.
- Monitor changes in agricultural, financial and trade regulations, conduct impact assessments and advise leadership.
- Develop and implement internal compliance policies aligned with group standards.
- Prepare and file periodic regulatory returns with zero defects.
- Present compliance reports to the Board and executive team, highlighting risks and emerging trends.
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance and Supply Chain to ensure health, safety and environmental standards are met.
- Conduct internal regulatory audits and gap analyses to keep the group audit‑ready.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
- Professional certification in Compliance (e.g., CAMS) or admission to the Nigerian Bar preferred.
- 5–8 years of experience in regulatory compliance, corporate legal or government relations, preferably in agribusiness, FMCG or financial services.
