Real Estate Lawyer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Lawyer to join our legal team and support a large‑scale real estate portfolio across multiple Nigerian states. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of real estate documents while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft routine deeds of assignment, contracts of sale, leases and amendments; print, bind, seal and sign documents.
• Monitor legal risk in real estate documentation and provide advice to the company.
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations related to real estate transactions.
• Ensure necessary approvals are obtained before execution of transactions.
• Manage regulatory and compliance services for property acquisitions and disposals.
• Handle sourcing, vetting, and due diligence of properties.
• Represent the company in purchase and sale negotiations.
• Defend state code litigation and support general legal advisory needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Property Law or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in real estate law, including litigation, lease transactions, property management, and purchase‑sale deals.
• Strong analytical, research, and judgment skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
