Quay Staff – Cargo Handling at Port

About the role

The Quay Staff member ensures safe and efficient cargo handling on the quay, supporting loading, unloading, and housekeeping activities. This role contributes to zero cargo loss both onboard vessels and ashore while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hooking and de‑hooking of cargo on vessels and onshore.
• Clear cargo spillage on vessels and quay areas to maintain safety.
• Support stacking area operations, including cargo positioning and organization.
• Assist during barge operations and related cargo handling activities.
• Ensure safe handling of cargo in line with operational procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the quay and work areas.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines.
• Report hazards, damages, or incidents promptly to supervisors.
• Assist equipment operators and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
• Support general quay operations as required.

Required profile

• High physical fitness, stamina, and agility for outdoor manual labor.
• Maximum age of 30 years at the time of application.
• Good communication skills, strong teamwork capability, and ability to follow strict operational instructions.
• High safety awareness, alertness, and vigilance when working around heavy machinery and port infrastructure.
• Minimum education: Secondary School Certificate (SSC).
• 0–1 years of experience in a similar quay or cargo handling role.
