Purchasing Officer – Telecom & Fiber Procurement

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to lead procurement activities for a telecommunications and fiber technology client. The role involves managing vendor relationships, coordinating inventory, and ensuring timely sourcing of materials and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure materials, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
• Identify reliable vendors and negotiate competitive pricing and delivery timelines.
• Manage supplier relationships and ensure consistent service delivery.
• Prepare and process purchase orders, quotations, and procurement documentation.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities.
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery of purchased items.
• Conduct market research to identify cost‑saving procurement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and vendor databases.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and operational standards.
• Resolve supply, delivery, or vendor‑related issues promptly.
• Support cost control and operational efficiency initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration, Logistics, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or similar role.
• Experience in telecommunications, engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure or technical operations is an advantage.
• Residence within or around the Lekki Free Trade Zone.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
• Good understanding of procurement processes and inventory management.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Effective communication and reporting skills.
