Public Health Implementation Officer – Kano State

About the role

Helium Health is seeking a Public Health Implementation Officer to lead the rollout of its multi‑state maternal health programme in Kano State, Nigeria. The role will coordinate field activities, engage stakeholders, and ensure programme targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate state‑level implementation of programme activities in line with workplans, timelines and quality standards.
• Lead user recruitment and activation across facilities, community health workers and community outreach drives, setting and monitoring targets.
• Supervise and support CHWs and field personnel, assigning tasks, monitoring performance and providing problem‑solving guidance.
• Build and maintain relationships with public and private health facilities, onboarding them and supporting risk assessment and digital tool adoption.
• Serve as the day‑to‑day liaison with the State Ministry of Health and other government stakeholders, documenting actions and representing the programme in meetings.
• Track performance indicators, ensure data quality, prepare weekly and monthly implementation reports and flag any compliance or safeguarding issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Community Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 4 years experience in public‑health programme implementation, community health or field operations.
• Proven experience coordinating health programmes with facilities, CHWs and government partners.
• Strong understanding of community engagement, health programme monitoring and maternal health initiatives (advantageous).
• Experience with digital health or technology‑enabled interventions is a plus.
