Project Manager – Construction & Infrastructure

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, execution and delivery of major construction and infrastructure projects across Lagos. The role covers healthcare facilities, student accommodation, retail, sports complexes and other commercial developments, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead construction and infrastructure projects from planning through handover, defining objectives, scope, milestones and execution strategies.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules using MS Project or Primavera P6, monitor critical‑path activities and implement recovery plans.
• Prepare and control project budgets, track expenditures, and support cost‑control measures and contractor payments.
• Manage contractors, subcontractors and consultants, ensuring performance against contracts, specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate stakeholder communication, lead progress meetings and escalate risks to senior management.
• Secure permits, licences and regulatory approvals and ensure compliance with construction codes and safety regulations.
• Oversee quality assurance, HSE compliance and risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related discipline).
• Mandatory COREN certification and PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
• Minimum 5 years post‑graduation experience managing large‑scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in contractor and multidisciplinary team management, budgeting and risk management.

Required skills

• MS Project or Primavera P6 for programme management.
• AutoCAD for technical drawing review.
• Microsoft Office suite for reporting and documentation.
• PMP / PRINCE2 project management methodology.
• COREN professional registration.
