Program Officer, Health Advocacy (12‑Month LTE)

About the role

The Program Officer, Health Advocacy will support the development and execution of health advocacy priorities for the Nigeria Country Office, focusing on policy, financing, implementation and accountability across primary health care, immunization, malaria, family planning and related health system areas.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Nigeria health advocacy strategies aligned with foundation priorities.
• Translate public health priorities into clear advocacy objectives, influence pathways and stakeholder maps.
• Support political commitment and financing for primary health care, immunization, malaria, family planning and related programs.
• Manage advocacy grants and contracts, ensuring alignment with strategy, milestones and performance tracking.

Required profile

• Strong background in public health advocacy with proven results.
• Deep understanding of Nigeria’s health policy and financing landscape.
• Experience working with government, civil society and partner ecosystems.
• Ability to influence policy adoption, budget allocation and implementation outcomes.
