About the role

The Program Coordinator drives a non-profit mission to address food insecurity and bridge the STEM education gap. The role manages day-to-day field operations of climate-smart school gardens, tree-planting projects and teacher training across partner schools, and leads the booking, scheduling and execution of educational visits to the central greenhouse hub. It is an early career position suited to an organised, resourceful person who enjoys field logistics, stakeholder engagement and hands-on learning facilitation.

Key responsibilities

  • Outreach to primary and secondary schools to schedule and manage educational visit bookings, design tour itineraries and run interactive demonstrations on hydroponics, soilless farming and seedling propagation, while overseeing visitor logistics, group safety and post-visit feedback.
  • Direct multi-site field logistics for upcycled vertical gardens, drip irrigation systems and native tree planting, and procure, inspect and track the distribution of agricultural inputs, hydroponic kits and learning materials.
  • Act as the main operational contact for school heads and teachers, coordinate in-person and virtual teacher training workshops, and recruit, train and manage volunteers.
  • Track impact metrics such as student attendance, visit counts, crop yields and tree survival rates, and maintain databases in Google Sheets and Google Forms.
  • Prepare field summaries, case studies and photos for donor reports and grant proposals, and track activity-level expenses against program budgets.
  • Draft project communications, manage school partnership agreements (MoUs) and keep digital files organised.

Required profile

  • 0-2 years of experience in project coordination, community engagement, youth education, volunteer work or agricultural/environmental outreach; prior NGO, school or campus leadership experience is a strong plus.
  • Strong organisational ability to manage bookings, track materials and handle multi-site schedules.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with patience to engage school leaders, teachers and young students.
  • Quick thinking to solve field logistics problems and comfort working across diverse school environments.
  • Passion for food security, practical STEM education and community initiatives.

Required skills

  • Practical familiarity with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Forms)
  • Messaging platforms such as WhatsApp for field coordination
  • Virtual collaboration tools
