Primary Educator

About the role

Jewels Leading Lights Academy is seeking a dedicated Primary Educator to join its teaching team in Abuja. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality instruction to primary‑level learners and supporting their overall academic and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lessons, preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and teaching resources.
• Assess learners through classwork, assignments, tests and examinations and record academic progress.
• Manage classroom behaviour, maintain a safe learning environment and provide additional support for learners who need it.
• Communicate learners' progress to parents, attend parent‑teacher meetings and collaborate with school administration.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions and school activities, clubs and excursions.

Required profile

• Minimum NCE, HND or Bachelor’s degree in Education; teaching licence or eligibility preferred.
• 2–3 years of primary‑school teaching experience, preferably in a structured private‑school setting.
• Ability to prepare effective lesson plans, assessments, schemes of work and maintain accurate learner records.

Required skills

• Deliver engaging lessons in core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Basic Science and Social Studies.
• Use varied teaching methods and digital resources to accommodate different learning abilities.
• Maintain a positive, orderly classroom and apply positive discipline techniques.
