Portfolio Manager

About the role

renmoney is seeking a Portfolio Manager to lead the development and execution of credit portfolio strategies that support expansion into new markets across Nigeria. The role balances risk, profitability, and customer acquisition while adapting to local market dynamics and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement localized credit strategies based on customer behaviour, market conditions, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor portfolio quality, profitability, and growth across multiple regions using key credit risk metrics.
• Analyse portfolio trends, customer segments, and product performance to identify growth opportunities and emerging risks.
• Conduct portfolio forecasting, scenario analysis, stress testing, and profitability assessments.
• Recommend enhancements to underwriting policies, pricing strategies, and portfolio limits.
• Partner with product and business teams to launch new lending products and support market expansion.
• Collaborate with finance on Expected Credit Loss (ECL), impairment analysis, and provisioning.
• Develop automated dashboards and reporting tools for executive decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in portfolio management, retail lending, credit analytics, and expansion strategy within banking or fintech.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive data‑driven decisions.
• Experience monitoring key portfolio indicators such as delinquency, default rates, recoveries, vintage performance, and loss trends.
